Dumbledore's sexuality

Having skimmed through my f-list, I see I'm a bit late on this. More shocking to me than the news that Dumbledore is gay is that I found out about it through an email from my brother Seth, who just read the entire series a few months ago. I've gone back and read some of the articles and like I said, scanned over my f-list but most of what I have to say are just my initial reactions. More likely than not, I'll go back and comment on other people's entries later today...

...but I first wanted to say a bit myself )

Well, I finished the book right at 23:31 UK time. Wow. After getting back to the hostel very late, reading for about 5 hours, taking a 3 or 4 hour nap and then reading straight through, I'm finally finished. Then had a nice walk and talk with Mel and Laura. Man, I absolutely love this book ... and am now emotionally exhausted.

Hope you guys had a great time with Deathly Hallows!

Was going to post this Saturday night/Sunday morning at 1:30 UK time but LJ wouldn't load. It's now 19:10 Sunday. Oh well.

Resignation

I wasn't sure I'd get my resignation in tonight but as I'm in Holyhead for the evening between Dublin and Edinburgh, I had time to download some threads I wanted to save and send off my resignations. I PM'ed Doris, Melissa and Nick. Then I posted in the Back Room and then in Snackage. I had written a much longer resignation, explaining that this is 7 months of realizing that Leaky isn't what I thought it was but also pointing out all the positive things about TLC and the staff ... and saying despite those positive things, the latest fiasco was just a reminder of why I was thinking about leaving when Cathy, Kim, Mair and Maggie left. Instead, I kept it short and sweet ... and still honest. Anyway, those posts in the Back Room and Snackage apply to my LJ buddies too so, to follow Tuuli's example, I'm going to post them here as well.

Back Room goodbye
Well, I just sent off my resignation to admin. I wanted to tell you all back here how much I've enjoyed working with you all. I decided a bit over a week ago that I'd leave after the RGs finished OotP and now we have. I hope you all have a great time with Deathly Hallows and I hope to stay in touch with as many of you as possible. I have so much love in me for Leaky and the past year and a half that I've been here. It's been amazing to be on RG staff and that is because of the friends I've made in the RGs and on staff. Melissa, your interview with Jo is the reason I came to Leaky in the first place and despite our differences, I will always be grateful for that and all that you and the rest of Senior Staff have done to build and maintain TLC. To the rest of the staff, I've had such a great time here and I thank you all for that and *everything* you do. Your enthusiasm and love for Leaky, Harry and each other never ceases to amaze me.

All the best,
Moriah

Snackage goodbye
You guys know I love you! I'm thinking about you all, all the time that I'm over here. I'll be back on skype and LJ soon. Can't wait to talk DH with you guys and to see what you all do with the RGs! I know you'll rock them!!

Oh, and sorry I missed welcoming you, Katie (birthday twins) and Lisa (merrythought)! You're going to love RG staff!!!

And OMG 1,600th post

There's probably much more to say. Hopefully I'll get to it one of these days. You all really have meant so much to me. Like I just said elsewhere, all the crap is worth it for the friends I've made and good times I've had. I wouldn't trade any of it for anything. And I'm glad that there's LJ and skype to stay in touch and enjoy DH together. And the Stag & Lily! There's already so much to catch up on! I can't imagine how much there will be by the time I get home again! Yays!

Gah, it's 1:30 and I have a train in 5 hours. Better try to get some sleep! *hugs* to you all!

Love left a window in the skies

Wow, absolute craziness yesterday. All day long, I was thinking I needed to change my skype message to something that conveyed the emotional rollercoaster of the day. But then I'd look at the message I had up and realized it was already perfect.

I'm glad that window was open for [info]aguin34, [info]addreamy, [info]kimmparker and [info]thessalymarley to go home to a much more loving place (lol, I just realized it makes it sound like they've died or something ... *chuckle*).

There is still much more to be said about the Lily and Stag and the friendships it has brought me, and that includes friends who are not on RG staff, but it will wait for now.

I know I've shared this one before but it's worth sharing again: U2 - Window in the Skies.

Stag & Lily

Short entry again ... gots to run!

W.O.M.B.A.T.s, 1-3

That's right. I copied the first W.O.M.B.A.T. from the Lexicon (they have their own commentary on the first two on their W.O.M.B.A.T. page) and saved it in a word document. So, when the second one came along, I typed it up. And tonight, I just typed up the third. Here they all are if you want to look them over. It's late and I have other things I should be doing but I may make another post with what I think the answers are ;p

W.O.M.B.A.T. 1 )

W.O.M.B.A.T. 2 )

W.O.M.B.A.T. 3 )

the end :)

In case you missed it, the LJ Awards are taking place over on [info]mistakenelegant's journal. Voting ends at 11pm this coming Tues. Here's a list of all the people on my flist who are nominated for something. You know you want to go vote for them if you haven't already ;p

This is rather long so I'll put it behind the cut... )

*whew* There were more nominations than I realized but I think that's it. Go vote! Sorry if I missed anyone and if anyone else is nominated after I make this post or if you think I should vote for someone else who's already been nominated, comment and let me know! :)

More theories! )

In other news, I'm really excited that Rages to Riches won the Belmont today. The first filly in 102 years! It was so awesome. I cried a little. ;p

ETA: This is such a random post but my mom just now brought the mail to me and I have a post card from [info]g_smarmy wishing me good luck on my LSATs on Monday! Thanks Tuules! I've been studying a lot this last month, and today especially. I'm nervous but I feel good about it. *hugs*

More cover stuff

So, I started looking through some of my Bulgaria pictures today after seeing the cover art. I uploaded ones that I thought might demonstrate why I say that the cover reminds me of Bulgaria but really, the pictures don't do Bulgaria justice. I actually look a the cover and think of my town, Zlataritsa, just with larger mountains. There are mountains like that in Bulgaria, just not my town. But the river, the architecture, the mountains in the distance. In looking at my pictures again, I got annoyed by all the power lines in the shots. I can't believe how many power lines there are and that I rarely to never managed to avoid them!

Anyway, I've put them up in my LJ Galleries and commented on each individual picture. I think it's pretty likely that the trio are somewhere in the Balkan region, which is very exciting to me!
